Kevin Gilbert (1966-1996) was an American singer-songwriter, musician, and producer, known for his eclectic style that blended rock, progressive rock, and pop. He gained recognition in the late 1980s and early 1990s for his intricate compositions and lyrical depth. Gilbert's notable works include his 1995 album *Thud*, which showcased his virtuosity and unique sound, and *The Shaming of the True*, released posthumously in 2000, which is often regarded as his magnum opus. He was also a founding member of the progressive rock band Giraffe and collaborated with artists like Sheryl Crow and the band Toy Matinee.
