Kevin Gilbert

Kevin Gilbert (1966-1996) was an American singer-songwriter, musician, and producer, known for his eclectic style that blended rock, progressive rock, and pop. He gained recognition in the late 1980s and early 1990s for his intricate compositions and lyrical depth.

Gilbert's notable works include his 1995 album Thud, which showcased his virtuosity and unique sound, and The Shaming of the True, released posthumously in 2000, which is often regarded as his magnum opus. He was also a founding member of the progressive rock band Giraffe and collaborated with artists like Sheryl Crow and the band Toy Matinee.

Beyond his solo work, Gilbert's influence extends to his role in the emerging alternative rock scene, where his innovative approach to songwriting and production left a lasting mark.
